Kathleen Dollard Joins AppVenture Executive Team
BOULDER, Colo. (January 26, 2009) — AppVenture Inc. today announced that Kathleen Dollard will be joining its executive team as Chief Technologist.
Ms. Dollard brings 25 years experience developing business applications and many years of experience with software frameworks and code generation.
She's the author of Code Generation in Microsoft .NET (Apress) and also an expert on the Microsoft .NET platform.
In recognition for Kathleen's achievements, she's been a Microsoft MVP for eleven years and is a member of the INETA Speaker's Bureau.
Ms. Dollard speaks on software technologies around the world at conferences and user groups and she has a monthly column "Ask Kathleen" in Visual Studio Magazine .
"Kathleen has helped companies leverage the power of code generation for years. In her new role with AppVenture, her experience will help guide us as
we deliver the next-generation of software development tools and bring modern automation principles to the industry," said Fernando Cardenas,
Chief Executive Officer of AppVenture.
Ms. Dollard will lead the evolution of AppVenture's product offering, filling the needs of two distinct audiences: developers and architects.
"For the developer trying to get an application done quickly - we'll extend Foundations to provide Silverlight support and possibly other platforms like PHP."
She continued, "The real strength of AppVenture Foundations is its ability to express software architectures; we'll be expanding the product as
a tool for architects as well - allowing them to specify and enforce architectures within their organization."
While guiding the development of AppVenture Foundations is Kathleen's focus, she'll also play an important role in getting AppVenture's name
in front of developers through her extensive speaking schedule. Among many other events, she's chairing the inaugural GreenIT Connections
(March 2008, Orlando) and plans to be at Code Generation 2009 in Cambridge, England in June.
"I'm excited to have the opportunity to direct the future of AppVenture's products," says Dollard. "AppVenture Foundations is really a remarkable product:
combining what we've learned in code generation over the past decade with unique innovations - all aimed at massive improvements in developer productivity.
Building on the solid base of AppVenture Foundations, we can extend the product to meet new challenges, particularly expressing and evolving software architectures."
About AppVenture
AppVenture sells Application Generation products and services. Using AppVenture's software tools, programmers can generate the baseline code for
data-driven applications in minutes, not months. After generating the entire core application (including database scripts, stored procedures, data
access layer, service layer, user interface, unit tests, and documentation), developers can simply modify and extend the generated code and deliver
better quality software, much faster than other methods. Typical cost savings are around 50-85%. For more information, please visit
